You can also have a tailor simply sew a seam along the bottom of the cuff, tightening the elastic and tightening up the cuff for a while. It should be pretty damn cheap. And heat will destroy elastic. WebJan 17, 2024 · Fold along the fold line all the way around the sweater and pin right above the ribbing. Sew with a zigzag stitch right next to the top of the ribbing. Don't sew on the ribbing just right next to it. Trim the excess seam allowance down to 3/8 inch. Press the seam allowance up towards the body of the sweater.
